The refit of the 70’ classic sloop Kim took nine months and involved an almost complete strip out. The entire underwater ship was sandblasted and a new paint system added. The bilge was also painted inside and various shell plating replaced. We repainted the masts, added new backstay cylinders and replaced the standing rigging with rod rigging. The interior was removed with the exception of the cabins and an entire new saloon fitted, complete with a new layout, furniture and cabinetry.

The technical requirements for the refit were equally comprehensive, including an all-new electrical system and new navigation & communication equipment. All technical installations were removed and the following new systems added: Main engine, propeller, generator, bowthruster, fuel system, engine room ventilation, airco, refrigerators, freshwater system, watermaker, grey/blackwater system, bilge pumps, gas system and anchor wash pump.
