The motoryacht Life SAGA has been delivered to her delighted owner in Barcelona.

She looks and feels magnificent after a comprehensive 18-month rebuild at HJB, and Captain David Dimech and his crew – guests at HJB throughout the project – are now preparing for the season ahead. During sea trials Life SAGA’s noise and comfort levels were beyond even our high expectations and the yacht handles superbly.

Life SAGA’s owner has visited HJB on various occasions during the refit and we have enjoyed both his company and input. When we started this project on 2006 we knew that he enjoys rebuilding yachts and placing his very own personal stamp on them. We also knew about his legendary insistence on absolute perfection. Now we have seen it in practice as Life SAGA has been transformed from a worn-down boat into a high-class onboard residence for family and friends.

A full report on the Life SAGA refit will appear here in due course after the first major magazine article has been published in the October issue of Boat International. But let us give you a sneak preview of one of the highlights: The extended bridge deck lounge, which merges seamlessly with a ‘chill out zone’ on the aft deck (complete with recessed Jacuzzi, loads of comfy seating and some great plants).

To ensure unity of design, the sun deck has also been extended, and the well smart logistics make the two decks feel of one al fresco whole. Other highlights of the refit include an all-new master suite, refurbished guest suites, new engine room, new teak deck, integrated bridge, new galley and upgraded crew quarters.

A special thanks to David, Cinamon, Tyrone and Judy for being such great fun to have around the yard. We miss you guys and wish you, Alison, Astrid, Fatime and Jessica a great summer of sailing!
