PATRIOT UPDATE: THE FIRST PHASE OF HER REFIT

Before anything new can take shape, a refit always starts with removing what no longer fits the next chapter. That is exactly the phase we are in with “Patriot”.

Since her arrival at our yard, the focus has been on careful dismantling and preparation. Interior and exterior elements are being removed to create space for what will follow. One of the major steps so far has been the complete removal of the deck, making way for a new deck to be installed.

In this phase, Super Duplex Hulls plays an important role in the exterior works, including the careful demounting of deck hardware and other external components. Gemini is responsible for the deck works, including the removal of the existing deck and the preparation for the new one. In the next stage of the refit, SDH will also be involved in restoring selected elements and producing new components.

It may not look like progress yet, but this is where every meaningful refit begins. Stripping back, assessing and preparing, all with the goal of building something stronger, better and ready for the years ahead.
