J CLASS TO HOLD 2024 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN BARCELONA

The J Class has a rich history intertwined with the America’s Cup, representing the pinnacle of sailing elegance and competition during the ‘Golden Age.’ Despite being replaced by the more affordable 12 Metre Class post-World War II, the J Class has experienced a modern resurgence, with owners restoring or building new vessels to classic designs.

Excitement grows as the J Class World Championships are set to coincide with the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona in October 2024. Among the notable yachts participating are Topaz (J8) and Rainbow (JKZ1), both built by HJB, showcasing their greatness in Port Vell Harbour.

Grant Dalton, CEO of America’s Cup Events, expresses enthusiasm for this inclusion, emphasizing the J Class’s integral role in America’s Cup history. Hosted by the Real Club Nàutic de Barcelona, the event promises to be a highlight of the sailing calendar, drawing attention from enthusiasts worldwide.
