J-CLASS RAINBOW
J-CLASS RAINBOW
In 1934, Rainbow secured the America’s Cup through superior tactical strategy.
Designed by the legendary William Starling Burgess, she was a masterpiece of her era.
By 1940, her 175-ton bronze and lead structure was dismantled to supply the US defense industry. While the physical hull was given to the nation, the original blueprints survived.
72 years later, she was meticulously reconstructed by Dykstra Naval Architects and Holland Jachtbouw. Today, she competes in modern J-Class regattas, seamlessly blending her 1934 heritage with an advanced hybrid propulsion system.
